The Board is pleased to announce the addition of Robert O’Reilly to the Board’s Finance and Investment Committee (F&I). Robert joins Phil Gay as co-opted expert advisors to the Committee. Phil has been assisting the F&I Committee for the past two years. Robert’s appointment followed discussions at the June Board meeting. We are grateful to both Robert and Phil for their time and input on a voluntary basis.
Robert O’Reilly has more than 45 years experience in business and finance. He is a Chartered Accountant, a Chartered Secretary (UK) and a member of the Governance Institute. Robert has been a director of several public companies including an ASX listed company. For 12 years Robert was a director of UNICEF Australia. He specialised in international tax and finance for multinationals, various business entities and high net worth individuals.
Phil Gay is the former Chief Financial Officer and Operating Group Managing Director of Pacific Dunlop Ltd. He is currently a director of the Daylesford Community Bank, 7-11 Stores Pty Ltd, Starbucks Coffee Pty Ltd and Deputy Chair and Treasurer of RG Withers Holdings Pty Ltd. Phil’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Arts (finance and accounting); Advanced Management Program (Harvard Business School); Fellow of CPA Australia and Fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia.
Both Robert and Phil are long time members and Poll Hereford stud breeders. We are delighted that they have agreed to volunteer their expertise and experience.
At the June Board meeting Mr Hilary O’Leary stood aside as Treasurer. Kevin Hillsdon replaces Hilary as Treasurer. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Hilary for his many years of dedicated service to Herefords Australia and its Members. He remains a member of the F&I Committee.
